Viva Cinco de Mayo!

I showed up at work today with a never-before-worn Cinco de Mayo tee shirt that has languished in my cupboard for more than three years.

So yeah, I am alone celebrating here south of the south. Well no-one knows what the hell it means, can't blame 'em really. ;)

Wikepedia says:
"Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for "fifth of May") is a voluntarily observed holiday that commemorates the Mexican army's unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín."
I wonder how the celebrations will go down in Arizona.

I read that the Phoenix Suns will take a stand by wearing the words "Los Suns" on their team jerseys at a game tonight.

A baseball union is also speaking up and calling SB 1070 racist.

I also read that the "Phoenix-based National Socialist Movement, a neo-nazi white supremacist group is sponsoring “Report An Illegal” Day on the same day Cinco de Mayo is celebrated."

Eish my head hurts.

AnyHowze, Viva Cinco de Mayo.

Onward!

Viva!

By wearing that tee-shirt, you're spreading awareness, eh?

Happy Cinco de Mayo, my friend!
