Jet Airways and Sunday Soul

I "imagine" layers of clouds and recurring thoughts of moments clear and uncertain;

Too brief and too cold;

And if I am right the window that keeps you inside is not the window you are looking through;

When land appears the sun will be just moments behind you;

And you will warm remembering the unfamiliar delight of being too cold and uncertain;

When the sun sets it will take away the familiar warm light but not the certainty;

To find your way back to meaning.

"Don't be afraid I can meet you half way
We cant always know where the road ends up
But with some luck, I know we can go
Wherever we imagine

Why should we wait, later on may be too late
Cause where can we run when you see there's half a chance
That we might really become
Whatever we imagine

And I imagine you and me
Just taking shots at what we see
And if we falter, take away the dust
And just outlast them all"

 (James Ingram)

Being a corny as hell old skool soul and R&B brutha (no not him) I like to recall lyrical meaning in every memory as it recurs/uncovers through the layers time.

"Take some rest," like you would say.  And ease your mind.

Onward!

Hey I enjoy watching Jerome!!!!

You know my love of music. Music has a tendency of tapping into feelings and memories from a certain point in our lives.

For me, it's like a sixth sense. When I hear a certain song, It brings back a specific taste, smell, thought, etc.

Music can be a powerful thing if backed with thoughtful and meaningful lyrics.

Hey there Erica:

Thanks for your comment. Ummm ... if I remember right a few years ago you said here on the blog you hated the stereotypical Jerome :0)

Don't make me search my comments :0)

Just jiving. You did say that but maybe you thought a ton of posts on Jerome was a little much.

I hear you on music. After a few years of just tuning out I am listening again.

Was doing so this morning on the way to work and then a cop seemed to clock me speeding ... again.

Last week it was a R500 fine ... but hey the lyrics was worth it.

What you listening to now?

Onward!

After three years you should recognize my sarcasm Jerome! :)

I'm listening to Kate Bush's new album, The Car's new album, and of course R.E.M.'s new album. Adele, and waiting with baited breath for Jill Scott's new album.

Jason Moran has a great jazz cd.

Something is always playing around here.
