Comment: I know some folks in Delhi and it would have been nice to be there over the five-day Durga Puja.

A news report I read says that "thousands of Bengalis and others in the capital bid an emotional farewell to goddess Durga on Thursday, with an estimated 600 idols being immersed in the Yamuna river."

Women ended the celebration by "smearing vermilion on each other and greeting the goddess with the 'baran' ritual as if she were one of them" the report continues.

Sweet.

Ain't the diversity of being human one of the greatest gifts we have?  It would be one sad f*ck of a world if we all looked alike and thought alike.

So, farewell to Durga.  And peace to my Hindu sisters and brothers.

Onward!
