Some folks are trying to occupy the university hell park blocks today. Man, it's cold and rainy out there (read: I have finally become an armchair intellectual and I am proud of it!)
The Occupy Portland 'movement' gets considerable coverage in these parts.
I must admit that if I was there I would be feet up right next to ya.
Those lefty-white sit-ins just never grabbed me. It always felt so 'not deep' and showy.
I saw a picture in a newspaper of Occupy folks in NY standing in line to buy coffee from Starbucks.
Huh?
Oh, and also to used restrooms at other capitalized eating joints.
Revolution to the unemployed consumer in the US is just a buzz word.
I feel sympathy for their undefined and unrefined struggle but man we been here before - all vacuous motioning.
Sorry a brutha is so negative - the Occupiers just don't impress me.
Peace and stay dry and warm.
It is a sweltering 34 degrees in the dustbin by the hole.

I heard this woman talking on Democracy Now tonight. Man, she's strong. She was speaking truth to power; she even mentioned Obama's ongoing visit in Australia and the US militarism there. She was telling it like it is, boet.
Even though I see no hope in the Occupy movement, she made me proud.
Hi Kweli:
I read that she is tuff! Been around the struggle block(s) for years and once ran for mayor of Seattle too.
All that and 84 too. She is indeed amazing.
I think a lot of folks have sympathy for the Occupy 'movement' or cause or whatever they are.
It is just time to bust the capitalist bubble ... two decades after the collapse of the USSR it is not looking so good for the West and its lackeys.
Be well my broer.
Peace,
ridwan
