Comment: I am really hoping this plucky young girl survives a bullet to her head.

Who in their right mind shoots a teenager in the head?

According to a news report the "Taliban claimed responsibility, saying her promotion of education for girls was pro-Western and she had opposed them."

Huh?

Education for girls is pro-western.  What a crock.

It is un-Islamic to shoot anyone in the head let alone a child.  And where in the Qur'an is it written that girls and/or women are not allowed to be educated?

Which century are these fools living in?

F*ck the Taliban.

Onward!

UPDATE (October 14, 2012): An AP news report in the Anchorage Daily News states that the:

United Arab Emirates plans to send a specialized aircraft to serve as an ambulance for a 14-year-old Pakistani girl shot by the Taliban in case doctors decide to send her abroad for treatment, a Pakistani official said Sunday.

Doctors say in the same report that  Malala Yousufzai is making "steady and slow progress".

I hope she pulls through.

I also like Shailja Patel's words on this (via Twitter): Global outcry over shooting of Pakistani schoolgirl by Taliban. Global silence over killing of dozens of Pakistani schoolgirls by US drones.

Patel is right.

Obomber's massacres continue daily and the numbers of innocent children who are killed are considered collateral damage.

But I hope folks are not too cynical/jaded to see the tragedy of Malala Yousafzai's fate nonetheless.

The Taliban are f*cking crazy just like Obomber and his cohorts.

Thank you for your comment Kweli.
