To all my Hindu, Jain, and Sikh sisters and brothers I wish you and yours a happy Deepavali as the triumph of light over darkness and the attainment of a higher spirituality is celebrated.
I am reminded of this verse from the Bhagavad-Gita, a longtime favorite of mine, at this time of remembrance and celebration:
"When your intelligence has passed out of the dense forest of delusion, you shall become indifferent to all that has been heard and all that is to be heard." (Text 52)There can be no greater light after darkness than such spiritual indifference.
