Viva Fidel Castro!

"My wishes have always been to discharge my duties to my last breath. That’s all I can offer. ...

The path will always be difficult and require from everyone’s intelligent effort. I distrust the seemingly easy path of apologetics or its antithesis the self-flagellation. We should always be prepared for the worst variable. The principle of being as prudent in success as steady in adversity cannot be forgotten. The adversary to be defeated is extremely strong; however, we have been able to keep it at bay for half a century.

This is not my farewell to you. My only wish is to fight as a soldier in the battle of ideas. I shall continue to write under the heading of ‘Reflections by comrade Fidel.’ It will be just another weapon you can count on. Perhaps my voice will be heard. I shall be careful.

Thanks."

Fidel Castro Ruz

The only thing good about Fidel, are his cigars, but we need to focus on our own nation.

What does anyone think about the cop out speech by Obama, and his plagiarism? His speech would have been all the more powerful had he credited his senator friend and colleague with a few choice inspirational words.

I don't really care if he can give a speech or not, but what does this symbolize?
All this from the man who refuses to wear the American Flag!!

Love or hate her, there is only one candidate qualified for the office this November.

You are too funny Dione. Fidel Castro has more integrity than any US president ever.

He has outlasted 9 US presidents and the 10th is a moron.

You do know that smoking Cubanos is a crime in the US, right?

Be well and thanks for your comment.

Oh yeah, what happened in Wisconsin for Billary?

:0)

Peace,
Ridwan

If I remember correctly, smoking them is ok, but purchasing Cubanos inside the US. is against the law, due to NAFTA. This is a nice little loop- hole for some, but the crime status must explain my bad luck.

I doubt our relations with Cuba will change even with Castro’s brother in power. He is the same, just as most of our presidents, and candidates are just that- the same.

The copy of U.S. News, & World Report that showed up today, has a picture of Obama clinching his chin in the “thinking” position. I found this to be very interesting. Especially since the big story posted on the front asks “Does Race Still Matter?” This is a ridiculous question! Of course, race, gender, religion… should not be a factor but these issues will always play its part in discrimination. This however is not what the article is asking, but it refers to America’s kindergarten thinking about if a black man can be president, will people be ok with it?, which is extremely racist, however its truth can be found by knowing the world today and understanding that we are still not evolved to where race does not matter.

My predictions about seeing a black man as president before a white woman may turn out to be accurate after all. If we look at Wisconsin, I feel that we are seeing an example of Obama relating to the US population as a whole, because like you mention he does not call white people upon their racism. What almost all of America does have in common is a deep need for change, and they see this change coming from a non traditional person holding office. You address this issue also, because Obama may be part black, but he’s white where it counts and he is using that. In a sense, this makes Obama a sell out, yet I could still understand him using that to smartly get into office before he could generate change. I however do not think he will do that.
Obama may also be too much a part of the privileged society to really understand the needs of the African American people who have been truly affected by racism. My hope would be that the voters would see this, but I am not surprised that he is winning by a lot in states with primarily African American voters. Does race matter? Yes, and just like some femininst that are voting for Hillary no matter what, many black voters are voting for Obama for the same reason. This is not a smart way to vote anyone into office, but it is human nature.

I wouldn’t discount Hillary yet, but I am surprised that she is dropping. I think it’s interesting that her negative campaigning is hurting her, while Obama’s negative campaign against her is helping him. I credit this to the fact that, gender matters. The assertive intelligent woman is always seen as the trouble maker or the bitch, the guy is bright, smart, and a mover and shaker.

The race continues to become more interesting. I think Hillary will certainly win Oregon, and many of the states that are left, but I don’t know if she can win enough of them now.

And yeah Obama makes white people think they know what racism really is all about.

Yeah!

Be well my friend.

As for Obama, I rarely hear him speak of any racial issues other than when he was on the Tyra Banks show. She and Oprah approve of him for the racial reasons, and I feel that Obama cheap'nd his position by stating that he has someone in his family reminding him of anyone from Margaret Thatcher to Burney Mac. (Pardon the spelling)

Does someone really have to win???
Can America win, with these odds?

Maybe Fidel's brother can make some change with Nafta, so I dont have to go to Canada for contraband. Might as well get some Whisky bon bons while i'm there.

Stay well,
Dione
