Ramadan Mubarak

It is the holy month of Ramadan. Muslims who can, fast from just before sunrise to sunset as prescribed in the Holy Qur'an.

The Qur'an says simply in a chapter entitled The Cow [2:183]:
O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that ye may (learn) self-restraint,-
The picture above captures a woman praying in Jakarta, Indonesia, at the Istiqlal mosque on the first day of Ramadan (August 22, 2009 or Ramadan 1, 1430 in the Hijriah lunar calendar).

Peace and struggle.

As-salaamu, Ridwan.

Yes, Maty is on her fourth day of fasting. I'm trying to fast in sympathy, but it is very hard for a non-Muslim like me.

Peace to thee!

Dade

Can you provide a high resolution copy of your Leonard Peltier photo, credit for the photo and permission to use same?

Works in Progress is printing a piece on the parole denial. You have a very evocative Peltier picture on this website.

Thanks

Mike the picture of Peltier is not mine. It is, however, used on many private blogs and other sites.

I unfortunately do not remember where I copied it from.

Peace.

Good to see you are writing here again. An aside, I was not surprised by Leonard's parole denial. He will die in prison despite the fact that he was railroaded and wasn't the shooter nor the fact that the other two men were acquitted for self-defense.

Many blessings to all Muslims.
